Business Card Printing
450gsm silk or 350gsm uncoated — up to 30 name sets in one order, delivered free.
Business Cards on Heavyweight Stock
A business card gets judged before it's read. Weight, finish and edge quality register in the first second of someone taking it, which is why we print on 450gsm silk and 350gsm uncoated rather than the 350gsm most online printers treat as their standard.
Standard UK size, 85 x 55mm, printed in full colour single or double sided, from 50 cards.
Choosing Your Stock
- 450gsm silk — our heaviest card. Smooth, low sheen, and noticeably more substantial than most cards you'll be handed. Holds colour well, so it's the one to choose if the design is doing the work.
- 350gsm uncoated — a natural, tactile surface with no coating. It takes pen cleanly, which makes it the right choice for appointment cards, loyalty stamps, or anyone who writes on the back. Also the better fit for designs that lean understated rather than glossy.
The practical question is whether anyone will write on them. If yes, uncoated. If the card is purely visual, 450gsm silk gives you more presence in the hand.
Lamination
Available on both stocks in three finishes:
- Matt — a flat, low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints. The most popular choice, and the safest for text-heavy or corporate designs.
- Gloss — high shine that deepens colour and makes photography and bold blocks of colour look their best.
- Soft touch — a velvety, almost suede-like finish. The one people comment on, and worth it where the card itself is part of the impression you're making.
All three add durability, so cards survive a wallet or a pocket without scuffing. One thing to weigh up if you're choosing uncoated: laminating it seals the surface, so you lose both the writable finish and the natural texture that made uncoated the choice in the first place. If you need to write on the cards, leave them unlaminated.
Multiple Name Sets in One Order
You can supply up to 30 different sets in a single order. That means one order, one delivery, and the same stock and finish across a whole team.
It's the practical way to handle cards for a growing office, an agency with a dozen staff, or a franchise where every branch needs its own contact details on the same design. Most printers make you place a separate order per person, which means separate minimums and separate deliveries.
Each set is treated as its own artwork, so names, job titles, phone numbers and photos can all differ — the design just needs to stay consistent.
Artwork Requirements
Supply print-ready PDFs at 91 x 61mm — that's the finished 85 x 55mm card plus 3mm bleed on every edge. Work in CMYK at 300dpi or better, keep text and logos at least 3mm inside the trim, outline or embed fonts, and leave printer marks off.
A free template is available. If you're supplying multiple sets, name your files clearly so it's obvious which is which.
Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.
Turnaround & Delivery
Choose a 1 working day turnaround for urgent orders, or 3–4 working days as standard. The first working day begins the day after your order is placed, and turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that.
Standard UK delivery is free on all business card orders, whatever the quantity or number of sets. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.
Need them faster? Our same day business cards are printed and dispatched the same working day if you order by 10am. We also print folded business cards and a dedicated uncoated business card range.
FAQs
What size are the cards?
85 x 55mm, the standard UK business card size. Fits any wallet or cardholder.
What's the minimum order?
50 cards.
Can I order cards for several people at once?
Yes. Up to 30 different name sets can be supplied in a single order, all on the same stock and finish.
Which stock should I choose?
450gsm silk for the heaviest, most premium feel. 350gsm uncoated if anyone needs to write on the cards, or if you want a more natural, tactile finish.
Can I write on these cards?
Yes, on 350gsm uncoated left unlaminated. Coated stocks and any laminated surface won't take standard pen ink properly.
Which lamination should I choose?
Matt resists fingerprints and suits most designs. Gloss lifts colour on image-led cards. Soft touch is the most premium and the most noticeable to hold.
How long does it take?
1 working day or 3–4 working days production, starting the day after you order, with delivery on top.
Do you check my artwork before printing?
Yes — a real person checks every file to confirm it's correctly sized, has bleed, and is print-ready. We don't amend or fix artwork files.
Is delivery really free?
Yes. Standard UK delivery is included on all business card orders, with no minimum spend.
