Slim or Standard?

The difference is the spine, and it's determined by the case you're using rather than by preference.

• Standard — 272 x 183mm finished. The traditional 14mm DVD case, which is what most retail and commercially produced discs use.
• Slim — 268 x 183mm finished. The 7mm case, common for promotional discs, short runs and anything being posted, since it's lighter and cheaper to send.

Measure the case you've bought before ordering. A standard cover in a slim case won't fit, and a slim cover in a standard case leaves a gap down the spine.

Getting the Spine Right

The spine is where DVD cover artwork most often goes wrong, and it's worth a moment before you send the file.

On a slim case the spine is around 7mm wide; on a standard case it's around 14mm. That's not much room for a title, so keep spine text short, set it at a weight that stays legible small, and centre it carefully — a spine title that drifts a millimetre or two off centre is obvious once the case is closed.

Avoid running a background colour change exactly along the spine fold. Trimming tolerances mean the join can shift slightly, and a hard colour break at the fold shows it. A single background colour across the spine is far more forgiving.

Can I upload multiple designs?
No, this product is for one artwork design per order. If you need multiple designs, please add each as a separate product before checkout.

Can you help set up my artwork?
We check your artwork before print to make sure it's correctly sized, includes bleed, and is print ready. We don't amend files, but we'll tell you if something needs changing.

Do you print DVD inserts or booklets?
No, this service is for DVD covers only.

How long does printing take?
