Fabric Mesh Banners
Lightweight polyester mesh that lets the wind through — any size, delivered free.
A Mesh Banner That Folds, Washes and Weighs Less
Full-colour banners printed on 230gsm polyester mesh. The perforated weave lets wind pass through, so the banner doesn't catch the wind like a sail, while your graphic stays clearly visible. It's made for fences, Heras panels, scaffolding, crowd barriers, café barriers and building wraps: anywhere a solid banner would struggle.
Because it's fabric rather than PVC, it arrives folded instead of rolled on a tube, it's lighter to fit, it can be washed, and it's fire-rated to DIN 4102-1 B1. Enter any size in metres, centimetres, millimetres, feet or inches.
Why Fabric Mesh Instead of PVC?
It's lighter. A 3375 × 1780mm Heras fence banner in fabric mesh weighs about 1.4kg, against around 1.9kg in PVC. Over a long fence run or a multi-banner installation, that difference adds up for whoever is fitting them.
It folds. PVC has to be rolled around a tube to avoid creases and pinch marks. Fabric mesh folds into a bag or box, so it's easier to store, carry and take to site. Any creases drop out once the banner is tensioned, or can be ironed out.
It's washable. The design is dye-sublimated into the fabric, so it resists scuffing and can be cleaned rather than replaced.
It's PVC-free. It's 100% polyester. Some clients, councils and contractors have environmental policies that rule out PVC, and fabric mesh meets them.
It's fire-rated. It's certified to DIN 4102-1 B1, which some venues and events ask for.

Choosing a Finish
Hems & Eyelets is the standard choice for fences and barriers. Every edge is double-folded and sewn (a 50mm fold with a 10mm tuck-under), then fitted with clear plastic eyelets that won't rust. Eyelets go in each corner, with no more than one per metre in between. If you need them closer together, for example on an exposed site, or in specific positions, tell us when you order. There's no extra charge.
Hems Only gives the same sewn hem with no eyelets, for clipping, clamping or fixing your own way.
Pole Pocket(s) adds a sewn sleeve along the edges you choose, so a pole can slide through. Tell us your pole diameter and we'll size the pocket to fit.
Where It Works Best
- Heras and site fencing
- Scaffolding and building wraps
- Crowd barriers at events
- Café barriers
- Sports grounds, pitches and railings
- Lamp post banners
What Goes Wrong, and Why
A white edge, or the design is cut short. The artwork only had 5mm bleed, which is the PVC banner standard. Fabric mesh needs 50mm, because the hem folds back and the fabric shrinks and moves slightly during printing.
Text disappears into the hem. The double-folded hem takes up the outer 60mm all round. Keep text and logos inside that.
Light shows through. It's a mesh, so light from behind, such as sun or floodlights, will show through slightly. If the banner will be backlit, a solid PVC banner may suit better.
It arrived creased. Fabric mesh is shipped folded. The creases drop out once the banner is tensioned, or you can iron them out.
Blacks look flat. 100% black alone prints washed out on fabric. Use a rich black of C75 M65 Y65 K100.
Eyelets have pulled. The banner was fixed with cable ties or rope that has no give. Use bungee ball ties through every eyelet. Like all banners, take it down in winds over 30mph.
Size Limits
The shortest edge of your banner can be up to about 2950mm with hems and eyelets. The longer edge can be any length. If you need both edges over 3m, contact us for a quote.
Artwork Requirements
Set your artwork up at the same proportions as your banner. You can work at full size, half, quarter or 10% scale. For anything over 5m in either direction, use a smaller scale, because PDFs can't exceed 5080mm.
- Bleed: 50mm on every edge, at full size
- Safe area: keep text and logos at least 60mm inside the finished edge
- Pole pockets: keep important content clear of any edge with a pocket
- Colour: CMYK. For deep black, use C75 M65 Y65 K100.
- Resolution: if you design at reduced scale, switch off image downsampling when exporting
- No crop marks, colour bars or keylines inside the bleed
- Fonts outlined, images embedded
- PDF only
- One design per order
Seams are sewn in black or white thread, whichever suits your design.
Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

FAQs
What's the banner made of?
230gsm 100% polyester mesh, dye-sublimation printed.
Does wind pass through it?
Yes. The perforated weave lets air through, which reduces the strain on the banner and fixings compared with solid PVC.
Is it fire-rated?
Yes, to DIN 4102-1 B1.
How much lighter is it than PVC?
A 3375 × 1780mm Heras banner weighs about 1.4kg in fabric mesh, against around 1.9kg in PVC.
Can I wash it?
Yes. The ink is dye-sublimated into the fabric, so it's washable and scuff-resistant.
How is it delivered?
Folded, in a polybag or box. Creases drop out when the banner is tensioned.
What eyelets do you use?
Clear plastic eyelets, which won't rust. One in each corner and no more than one per metre in between, with custom spacing free on request.
How much bleed do I need?
50mm on every edge. That's much more than for PVC banners, to allow for the hem and for fabric shrinkage.
How big can it be?
The shortest edge can be up to about 2950mm with hems and eyelets. The long edge can be any length. Larger sizes are available on request.
Will light show through?
Slightly, when there's a strong light behind it. It's a mesh.
Can I order more than one design?
Each order is one design. Place a separate order for each design.
How long does it take?
3–4 working days of production, with free UK delivery on top.
