Flyers Built to Survive Being Handled
An ordinary flyer is designed to be read once. A laminated one is designed to last — through a service, a shift, a season on a counter, or a hundred hands picking it up and putting it down again.
Lamination seals the printed surface under a thin protective film. It resists scuffing, water and grease, stops corners curling, and deepens the colour underneath. That makes it the obvious choice for menus, price lists, instruction cards, table talkers, treatment guides and anything that stays in use rather than going in a bin.
Available in seven sizes on heavyweight silk, from 25 flyers, with free UK delivery.
Sizes Available
- A4 (210 x 297mm) — full page. Menus, service lists and anything with real detail.
- A5 (148 x 210mm) — the workhorse size, and the most popular for laminated menus.
- A6 (105 x 148mm) — postcard sized. Table cards, instructions and inserts.
- A7 (74 x 105mm) — compact. Loyalty cards and small reference cards that live in a pocket.
- DL (99 x 210mm) — tall and slim. Fits a rack or a table stand, and the standard for takeaway menus.
- 148mm square — distinctive and compact.
- 210mm square — the design-led option, with room for photography.
Choosing Your Lamination
- Gloss — the highest shine and the deepest colour. Photography and bold blocks of colour look their best under gloss, which is why food menus almost always use it. Shows fingerprints more than the other two.
- Matt — a flat, low-sheen finish that resists fingerprints and cuts glare. The better choice for text-heavy work, anywhere under bright lighting, or a brand that reads understated.
- Soft touch — a velvety, almost suede-like surface. The most premium of the three and the most noticeable to hold, which makes it worth the difference where the piece is part of the impression.
Each is available single or double sided. Single sided laminates the front only, which protects the face that gets seen and handled while leaving the reverse untreated. Double sided seals both faces and is the more durable option — worth it for anything wiped down, carried around, or used in a kitchen or workshop.
If the flyer is only printed on one side, single sided lamination is usually enough. If it's printed both sides and stays in use, laminate both.
Why the Stock Starts at 250gsm
Our standard flyers start at 150gsm. Laminated ones start at 250gsm, and that's deliberate.
Lamination adds a rigid film to the surface. On lightweight paper that creates an imbalance — the sealed side holds its shape while the paper behind it doesn't, and the result curls, feels flimsy, and undermines the point of laminating in the first place.
From 250gsm upward the board has enough body to carry the film properly:
- 250gsm silk — the practical minimum. Substantial enough to laminate well, and the sensible choice for volume runs of menus and price lists.
- 350gsm silk — noticeably more rigid, closer to a card. Holds its shape on a table or a counter without support.
- 450gsm silk — our heaviest. Genuinely board-like once laminated, and the option for anything that needs to survive daily use for a long time.

One thing worth knowing before you finalise artwork: lamination deepens colour slightly, particularly gloss. Dark tones come out a shade richer than the same file printed unlaminated, which usually flatters a design but is worth allowing for if you're matching an existing printed piece.
Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.
Turnaround & Delivery
Choose a 1 working day turnaround for urgent orders, or 3–4 working days as standard. The first working day begins the day after your order is placed, and turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that.
Standard UK delivery is free on all laminated flyer orders, whatever the size or quantity. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.
Don't need lamination? Our standard flyer printing range covers the same sizes on stocks from 150gsm upward.
FAQs
What's the minimum order?
25 flyers.
What sizes can I have?
A4, A5, A6, A7, DL, 148mm square and 210mm square.
Which lamination should I choose?
Gloss for the deepest colour and image-led designs. Matt to cut glare and resist fingerprints. Soft touch for the most premium feel.
Should I laminate one side or both?
One side is enough if the flyer is printed single sided. Laminate both if it's double sided or will be handled and wiped down regularly.
Why can't I have lighter paper?
Lamination on lightweight stock curls and feels flimsy. 250gsm is the lightest that carries the film properly.
Can I write on laminated flyers?
Not with a standard pen. The sealed surface won't take normal ink, though a permanent marker or a drywipe pen will work — which is why laminated cards are often used for reusable checklists and specials boards.
Are they waterproof?
Water-resistant rather than waterproof. Lamination protects the printed surface from spills and damp hands, but the paper edges remain exposed. For genuinely outdoor use, our waterproof PVC posters are the better option.
How long does it take?
1 working day or 3–4 working days production, starting the day after you order, with delivery on top.
Is delivery really free?
Yes. Standard UK delivery is included on all laminated flyer orders, with no minimum spend.
