PVC Banner Printing
Custom-size PVC banners with welded hems and eyelets — made to order, delivered free.
PVC Banners Made to Your Size
Full-colour banners printed on 440gsm banner-grade PVC, to any width and height you need. They're for shopfronts, fences, railings, events, sports clubs, building sites and sale announcements. The inks are UV-based and made to resist fading in sunlight, and the material works indoors and out.
Enter your size in metres, centimetres, millimetres, feet or inches, and choose a finish. Order a single banner or as many as you need. Banners are priced by the square metre.
Choosing a Finish
The finish decides how your banner goes up, so choose it based on where it's going.
Hems & Eyelets is the standard choice for fences, railings, walls and frames. Every edge is folded and welded into a 53mm hem for strength, then fitted with metal eyelets: one in each corner and no more than one per metre in between. If you need eyelets closer together, for example on a windy fence line, or in specific positions, tell us when you order. There's no extra charge.
Angled & Hemmed Corners with Eyelets is the same as Hems & Eyelets, but the corners are angled off before hemming, for a neater, less bulky corner.
Hems & Corner-Only Eyelets has the same welded hem, with eyelets in the four corners only. It suits small banners, or banners tied at the corners to posts or a frame.
Hems Only gives a welded 53mm hem with no eyelets. Choose it if you'll clip, clamp or tape the banner up, or add your own fixings.
Hem with Velcro is a hemmed banner with a Velcro (hook and loop) fixing, for mounting onto a frame or surface fitted with the matching strip.
Pole Pocket(s) adds a sleeve along the edges you choose, so a pole can slide through to hang or tension the banner. Tell us the diameter of your pole and we'll size the pocket to fit.
Trimmed to Size is cut straight to size with no hem. It's the cleanest edge for banners going into a frame, onto a board or indoors. Without a hem, it isn't as strong at the edges for outdoor fixing.
Trimmed with Eyelets is cut to size with eyelets added around the edge, but no hem. It's a lighter finish for short-term or indoor use.
Trimmed with Corner-Only Eyelets is cut to size with an eyelet in each corner and no hem. It's for small, light banners tied at the corners.
PVC, Mesh or Heavy Duty?
Standard 440gsm PVC (this page) is the everyday choice: a solid, bright, full-colour banner for most indoor and outdoor jobs.
Mesh PVC banners are perforated so wind passes through. Choose mesh for exposed sites, long fence runs, scaffolding and anywhere a solid banner would catch the wind like a sail.
Heavy duty banners use a tougher material, for banners that need to stay up longer or take more wear.
For construction sites, see our Heras fencing banners. For a free-standing pavement display, see the outdoor banner frame.
What Goes Wrong, and Why
Eyelets tear out. The banner was fixed with cable ties or rope that has no give, or there aren't enough fixing points for the wind it's facing. Use bungee ball ties through every eyelet, and ask for closer eyelet spacing on exposed sites.
The banner flaps or sags. Some eyelets were skipped, or it was fixed only at the corners. Fix every eyelet and keep the banner evenly taut.
Text is lost in the hem or behind an eyelet. Important content was placed too close to the edge. The welded hem and eyelets take up the outer 60mm all round, so keep text and logos inside that.
The pole pocket ate into the design. Pockets are made within the size you order, not added to it. Leave a pocket allowance along that edge (see Artwork Requirements).
A trimmed banner has torn at the edge. Trimmed finishes have no hem to strengthen the edge. For anything fixed outdoors, choose a hemmed finish.
The banner blew down. Banners are temporary signage. Take them down in winds over 30mph. For windy sites, choose mesh.
Blacks look washed out or detail disappears. 100% black alone prints flat on PVC, and very similar colours can merge at large format. Use a rich black and keep overlapping colours at least 20% apart.
Artwork Requirements
Set your artwork up at the same proportions as your banner. You don't need to work at full size: half, quarter or 10% scale all work. A 5m × 1m banner can be designed at 1250mm × 250mm (25%). For anything over 5m in either direction, use a smaller scale, because PDFs can't exceed 5080mm.
- Bleed: 5mm on every edge, at full size
- Hemmed finishes safe area: keep text and logos at least 60mm inside the finished edge. This margin sits within your banner size; it isn't added to it.
- Pole pocket allowance: on each pocket edge, keep important content clear of a strip equal to pole diameter × 2.5 + 30mm. For a 25mm pole that's 92.5mm; for a 50mm pole, 155mm; for 60mm scaffold tube, 180mm.
- Colour: CMYK only. For deep black on PVC, use C50 M50 Y50 K100 rather than 100% black.
- Resolution: if you design at reduced scale, switch off image downsampling when exporting, or your images will be enlarged to a low resolution.
- No crop marks, colour bars or keylines inside the bleed area
- Fonts outlined, images embedded
- PDF only
- One design per order
Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

FAQs
What material are the banners printed on?
440gsm banner-grade PVC, printed with UV-based inks.
What sizes can I order?
Any width and height. Enter your size in metres, centimetres, millimetres, feet or inches.
How far apart are the eyelets?
One in each corner and no more than one per metre in between. Closer or custom spacing is free. Tell us when you order.
How wide is the hem?
53mm, welded.
How close to the edge can my text go?
Keep text and logos at least 60mm inside the edge on hemmed banners.
How much bleed do I need?
5mm on every edge at full size.
Are PVC banners suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. They're printed with UV-based inks made to resist fading. Like all banners, they're temporary signage and should come down in winds over 30mph.
Should I choose PVC or mesh?
PVC for most jobs. Mesh for exposed, windy sites, long fence runs and scaffolding, where air needs to pass through.
Should I choose hemmed or trimmed?
Hemmed for anything fixed outdoors, because the hem strengthens the edge. Trimmed for frames, boards and indoor use.
Does the pole pocket add to the banner size?
No. Pockets are made within the size you order, so leave a clear strip along that edge in your artwork.
What's the best way to hang it?
Bungee ball ties through every eyelet. They stretch in the wind, so the eyelets don't take the strain.
Can I order more than one design?
Each order is one design. Place a separate order for each design.
What file format do you need?
PDF, in CMYK, with 5mm bleed.
How long does it take?
3–4 working days of production, with free UK delivery on top.
