SEG Fabric Wall-Mounted Lightboxes

Edge-lit fabric lightboxes up to 3m wide — LEDs fitted, delivered free.

A Backlit Graphic That Lives on Your Wall

An aluminium frame, 75mm deep, that fixes to your wall with LED lights already fitted around its inside edge. Your graphic is printed on backlit fabric with a silicone edge sewn around it, which pushes into a channel in the frame and pulls the fabric flat. When the lights are on, the whole graphic glows evenly from behind.

Once the frame is up, changing the graphic is a job for your own staff, not an installer. Indoor use only.

Height2m2m2m

The 1m × 2m is a tall portrait panel for a narrow wall, a column or beside a doorway. The 2m × 2m is square and works as a feature wall behind a reception desk. The 3m × 2m fills a long wall in a shop, showroom or permanent exhibition space.

Lightbox or Unlit Frame?

A lightbox needs a power socket within reach of the 3m cable and a design that suits backlighting (see below). It's worth it where you want the graphic to stand out in a dim space or draw the eye from across a room.

If the wall is already well lit, there's no socket nearby, or your design uses large areas of flat colour, our unlit SEG wall-mounted displays use the same kind of fabric graphic without the lights.

What's Included

  • Aluminium frame, supplied in sections
  • LED lights, already fitted inside the frame
  • UK power cable, about 3m long, with transformer and fitted plug
  • Allen key for assembly
  • One printed backlit fabric graphic, with a nylon pull tab

No wall fixings are included, and the frame has no pre-drilled fixing holes. Different walls need different fixings, so you drill the frame where it suits your wall and use fixings to match.

Installing It

  1. Assemble the frame sections with the allen key.
  2. Decide where the cable will run and check it reaches a socket. It's about 3m long.
  3. Drill fixing holes in the frame to suit your wall, then fix it level.
  4. Push the graphic's silicone edge into the channel all the way round, starting at the corners.

The pull tab: each graphic has a small nylon tab to pull it out of the frame, which is awkward to do without one. It goes on an upper corner by default, out of children's reach. If you want it elsewhere, or not fitted at all, tell us when you order.

Designs That Work, and Designs That Don't

The lights sit around the inside edge of the frame and shine across the back of the fabric, rather than from a panel directly behind it. With busy, colourful designs, you won't notice any variation in brightness. With plain backgrounds or large blocks of a single colour, uneven patches of light can show. If your design is mostly flat colour, add imagery or texture, or choose an unlit frame.

Avoid printed borders. Fabric shrinks and moves slightly during printing, cutting, finishing and fitting, so a border that relies on an equal distance from the edge can end up visibly thicker on one side. Let the design run to the edges.

What Goes Wrong, and Why

Patchy or uneven light. The design has large plain areas that show up the natural variation in edge lighting. See above.

The cable doesn't reach. The cable is about 3m long. Plan the position around your nearest socket before drilling.

A ripple or gap at the edge. The silicone edge isn't fully pushed into the channel at that point. Press it home along the full length.

The graphic arrives after the frame. Frames and graphics can be dispatched separately, so the frame may turn up first. Use the time to get it on the wall.

Artwork goes missing from the exported file. The templates have a locked, non-printing guides layer. Anything placed on it won't be exported or printed. Put everything on the Design layer and check the exported PDF before sending it.

Replacement Graphics

The frame stays on the wall and the graphic changes. Replacement graphics arrive folded, and your staff can fit them with no tools, which makes lightboxes practical for seasonal promotions and changing campaigns.

Artwork Requirements

Use the template for your size. These templates are at 100% of full size, unlike most of our display templates, so don't scale your artwork.

  • Red line, bleed: the background must run all the way to it
  • Purple line, cut line: where the fabric is cut. The area between this and the finished line takes the silicone edging.
  • Blue line, finished edge: roughly the visible area once fitted
  • Green line, safe area: keep text, logos and contact details inside it
  • Everything on the Design layer, nothing on the guides layer
  • Fonts outlined, images embedded
  • No template guide lines, crop marks, bleed marks, colour bars or registration marks
  • CMYK only. Dye-sublimation can't reproduce Pantone colours, so convert them before supplying.
  • PDF preferred, AI or EPS also accepted

Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

Turnaround & Delivery

Production takes 3–5 working days. Backlit fabric is printed on set days each week, so the exact time depends on which day you order. Turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that. The frame may arrive before the graphic.

Standard UK delivery is free on all wall-mounted lightbox orders, whatever the size or quantity. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.

FAQs

What sizes are available?
1m × 2m, 2m × 2m and 3m × 2m (width × height). The frame is 75mm deep.

Does it come with wall fixings?
No. The frame has no pre-drilled holes, so you drill it to suit your wall and use fixings to match.

How long is the power cable?
About 3m, with a transformer and a fitted UK plug.

Are the lights already fitted?
Yes. The LEDs come fitted inside the frame.

Why do plain designs look patchy?
The lights sit around the frame's edges, so large areas of flat colour can show uneven brightness. Busy, colourful designs hide this.

Can I have a border around my design?
We advise against it. Fabric moves slightly during production, so borders can end up uneven.

Can my staff change the graphic?
Yes. Pull the old graphic out using the tab, then push the new one's silicone edge into the channel. No installer or tools are needed.

Where does the pull tab go?
On an upper corner by default. Tell us when you order if you want it elsewhere or not fitted.

What scale are the templates?
100% of full size. Don't scale your artwork.

Can I use Pantone colours?
No. Dye-sublimation prints in CMYK only, so convert Pantone colours before sending your file.

How long does production take?
3–5 working days, depending on the day you order. Delivery is on top.

Can I use it outdoors?
No. It's for indoor use only.

What's the minimum order?
One lightbox.

Is delivery really free?
Yes. Standard UK delivery is included on all wall-mounted lightbox orders.
