Roller Banners for When Standard Isn't Big Enough

A standard 800mm roller banner works hard in a shell scheme slot. Put the same banner in a reception area, an open hall or against a large blank wall and it starts to look lost.

Wide roller banners fill the space properly. At 1200mm and 1500mm they read as a display rather than a sign, and a single unit covers ground that would otherwise need two or three banners lined up side by side — with none of the gaps between them.

Sizes

• 1200 x 2000mm — a substantial presence without becoming unwieldy. Suits reception areas, larger exhibition stands and retail floors where the banner is the main visual.
• 1500 x 2000mm — effectively a backdrop. Wide enough to sit behind a desk, a counter or a photo call, and the option when one banner needs to do the job of two.

Both stand 2000mm tall. If you're exhibiting, check your stand width before ordering — shell scheme spaces are usually laid out in metre or three-metre widths, and a 1500mm banner in a 2m stand leaves very little room for anything else.

The Print Material

Printed on 330gsm grey-back PVC, which matters more at this width than at any other.

The grey backing blocks light from behind. A large banner in front of a window or a lit stand would otherwise show through and wash out, and the wider the graphic, the more obvious that becomes.

At 330gsm the material has genuine weight. That keeps a wide graphic hanging flat rather than rippling or curling at the edges — the failure mode that makes cheap wide banners look sagging and amateurish. The non-reflective surface reads cleanly under exhibition lighting without glaring in photographs.

Designing at This Width

Wide banners aren't just scaled-up standard ones, and a design that works at 800mm often doesn't translate.

Don't just stretch a standard layout. A centred logo and stacked text looks balanced at 800mm and marooned at 1500mm, with dead space either side. Wide formats want horizontal compositions — imagery running across, text ranged rather than centred, or content grouped into zones.

The bottom 100mm disappears into the cassette, and in a busy space the lower third is usually blocked by furniture and people. Keep logos, headlines and contact details in the top two thirds.

Resolution matters most here. At 1500mm wide you're enlarging artwork to one and a half metres across. An image that looks sharp on screen can fall apart completely at this scale, so check photographs are genuinely high resolution at full size rather than upscaled from something smaller.

Free templates are available for both widths in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. Multiple artwork files can be uploaded in a single order if you're running several banners together.

Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

Turnaround & Delivery

Choose a 1 working day turnaround for urgent orders, or 3–4 working days as standard. The first working day begins the day after your order is placed, and turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that.

Standard UK delivery is free on all wide roller banner orders, whatever the size or quantity. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.

Only in still, dry conditions. Roller banners are designed for indoor use and the base isn't weighted for wind — and a wide banner catches considerably more of it than a standard one.

How long does it take?
